Landau. Citizens´ Convention. Europäischer Bürgerkonvent Landau [0] - 05.07.2025
That is the first of BordersOff Landau articles. Welcome! Hope you enjoy this one and will follow all others. European Citizens Convention ended this weekend with lots of new friends. Problems of
volunteering in Europe were the main issues. As I found out, the West is got used to spend
time for charity and volunteering, but not the same is for East. Suppose, the organisators were happy to have the presenters from all over Europe and Russia as well as Belarus.
Now, the shortage of this 4 – day paradise of weather, wine and communication:
First day was dedicated for Welcome program. We had a nice tour in old part of the town,
opening of mini-exhibition and an evening of speeches followed by wine degustation.

Next day was full of program: lectures, discussions and workshops with 1 break. Hopefully,
coffee was available everywhere, because missing something was just impossible. Moreover, the evening was coming, with wonderful art-house program of directors from all over Europe. Also, impossible to miss.

Saturday was completely dedicated to the fair of volunteering organisations. The whole inner town was full of desks presenting all the Landau volunteering, charity and other organization. Plus, there were we: citizens of Europe. Every inch of space was occupied. And after 5 hours on the sun we were on second wine degustation. Really, after that there are no doubts left that Landau is wine capital of Germany.

Sunday, the last day of these “holidays” was summing up and brunch, communication and
some more presentations.
