Teaching Knowledge Test trainer training seminar - 22.07.2025
British Council Russia is organising a four-day trainer training seminar on Teaching Knowledge Test from 26 to 29 January 2009. Date: 26 January 2009, at 16.00.

The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is a test from Cambridge ESOL about teaching English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teacher’s confidence and provide opportunities for further professional development. It gives teachers a basic foundation in the major areas of teaching education needed for running the English language classes.
The seminar will acknowledge participants with British Council TKT Essentials Course which is based on the syllabus of TKT.
Aim of the seminar:
The seminar is aimed at providing the participants with the trainer skills and training materials for "TKT Essentials" course as well as at assisting in planning trainers work within their local context.
The programme will involve:
* Introduction of TKT as a teacher’s professional development tool
* TKT seminars methodology: principles, approaches, needs analyses, getting feedback, evaluation, etc.
* Planning/holding TKT Essentials seminars
The seminar will cover the three TKT core areas: background to language teaching/learning; lesson planning and teaching resources; classroom management.
The seminar will be conducted by Maggie Milne, Global Product Consultant, from English and Exam, British Council, Manchester.
The programme will be defined and announced later. The participants will get a package of support teacher training materials and will be enabled to practical use of it in their local context for their own TKT teacher training.
